  • A full review of your completed C1 form and any supporting documents.
  • Clear guidance on any corrections or amendments needed before submission.
  • Ongoing email and telephone support for queries relating to your C1 form or
    the Confirmation process.
  • An estate ingathering and closure guide (covering what to do after Confirmation, including collecting assets and closing accounts).

Enhanced Support Package

I prepare the Confirmation paperwork on your behalf and guide you through the process, ensuring the application is completed accurately and advise you on how to submit it correctly. Before the application can be prepared, you will need to establish the date-of- death values of any bank accounts, property and other assets and debts. I will guide you on what information is required and how best to obtain it. This service is suitable where there is a valid Will and no requirement to complete Inheritance Tax forms such as the IHT400.

For estates that require additional inheritance tax paperwork due to more complex financial affairs. I prepare the IHT400 and the Confirmation paperwork on your behalf and guide you through each stage of the process, ensuring the forms are completed
accurately and ready for you to sign and submit them. Before the paperwork can be prepared, you will need to establish the date-of- death values of any bank accounts, property and other assets and debts. I will guide you on what information is required and how best to obtain it. This service is suitable where there is a valid Will and where the estate requires submission of inheritance tax forms such as the IHT400.

Includes:

  • A personal consultation to confirm what is required for the estate.
  • Preparation of the IHT400 (inheritance tax account) and relevant schedules.
  • Preparation of the C1 form (application for Confirmation) and any supporting documents.
  • Clear guidance on how and where to submit the application, including a personalised cover letter for your use.
  • Ongoing email and telephone support for queries relating to the C1 and/or IHT400 forms or the Confirmation process.

Intestacy Support Service (No Will)

For estates where the person has passed away without leaving a valid Will. In these cases, there are additional legal steps that must be completed before an application for Confirmation can be submitted to the Sheriff Court. This service is only suitable for estates with a total value of £250,000 or less.

Includes:

  • A personal consultation to confirm what is required for the estate.
  • Preparation of the petition to appoint you as executor-dative, for you to sign and submit to the Sheriff Court
  • Guidance on obtaining a Bond of. Caution, which is usually required where there is no Will, unless the spouse or civil partner is entitled to the whole estate.
  • Preparation of the Bond of Caution and any other supporting documents for you to sign and submit.
  • Preparation of the C1 form (application for Confirmation) and any supporting documents for you to sign and submit.
  • Clear guidance on how and where to submit the documents including a personalised cover letter for your use.
  • Ongoing email and telephone support for queries relating to the C1 and, where applicable, inheritance tax forms or the Confirmation process.
  • An estate ingathering and closure guide (covering what to do after Confirmation, including collecting assets and closing accounts).

With all our packages you’ll need to print, sign, and submit the application to the court. Court fee not included.
